Once Authorize.Net is active, you can process donations. However, there are just a few more things to do in your Authorize.Net account to ensure your payments are processed smoothly.

Disable Authorize Email Receipts

Classy sends donation receipts to supporters at the time of transactions. We recommend turning off Authorize.Net’s email receipts to prevent redundancy. To do so:1. Log in to your Authorize.Net account
2. To open your Settings, click on the Account tab at the top-right of the screen
3. Under the Transaction Format Settings header, click Email Receipt
4. Uncheck the boxes under Enable Email Confirmation

Disable CVC Requirement

1. To open your Settings, click on the Account tab at the top-right of the screen
2. Under Transaction Format Settings, click Payment Form
3. Click Form Fields
4. Uncheck the boxes for Card Code

Enable American Express

To ensure you can process donations made with American Express, you’ll need to contact Authorize.Net and have them update the processors on your merchant account. You can do so by calling Authorize.Net at (877) 447-3938.

We recommend having the following information handy:

  • Your Secret Answer (the same you used to obtain your API Login ID)
  • The last 4 numbers of your tax ID
  • The last 4 numbers of your bank account
  • The last 4 numbers of your organization’s credit card
  • The last 4 numbers of a social security number (for whoever is in charge of finance)
