Classy is excited to announce Classy API Version 2 - a brand new RESTful API empowering you to create impactful applications and integrations. We understand there may be questions as we make this transition to Version 2 so we've gone ahead and answered the most commonly asked questions we've received. How will our current use of v1 of the API be impacted when we start using API V2?

The Classy API v1 sunsets on January 31, 2017.  

When you request access to the new Classy API v2, your current integrations won't be changed or altered in any way. You may keep your current development as is, but we highly recommend experimenting with the new Classy API and prepare to integrate with the newest version. All active development after January 31, 2017 will be on Classy API v2, including all new campaigns, so it is important to prepare in order to avoid having any null data on your website.

Question: Are the tokens I use for V1 the same ones that will be needed for API V2?

Can we compare Version 1 and Version 2 before transitioning completely?

Yes! The two versions can be used simultaneously until January 31, 2017, when the first version will be retired. This provides you and your team with a reasonable timeframe to test the functionality of V2 against Version 1. We think you’ll find the new Classy API to be much more flexible and powerful, so we hope you’ll experiment and test its new functionalities!

Will Classy be assisting my organization with the transition between v1 and API V2?

While we are happy to help troubleshoot through any errors or functionality questions you may have, we are unable to provide API configuration for our clients.
