What's Different Between the Classic and New Peer-to-Peer Campaigns?

Last Updated: Aug 18, 2016 11:34AM PDT

Peer-to-Peer fundraising is the type of fundraising that Classy was founded on, so it means a lot to us. We love seeing all of our clients be so successful in leveraging our platform through this multi-tier approach to fundraising. In order to keep pushing the envelope and providing our clients with the most effective tools to make them successful, we have launched a new version of our Peer-to-Peer campaigns. Of course, we all know and love the classic Peer-to-Peer, but when you see what the new Peer-to-Peer campaigns are capable of, you will not look back. This article is meant to point out some of those game changing features that make the new Peer-to-Peer campaign so great.

A. Fundraising Levels
B. Fundraiser Leaderboard
C. Fundraiser and Team Captain Dashboard
D. Milestone Email Notifications
E. Team Custom Questions
F. Fundraiser Signup
G. Mobile Responsive Pages

A. Fundraising Levels

We have designed our Fundraising Levels to help you better demonstrate the impact that just one fundraiser can have for your organization. When your supporters can connect the amount of time, money or effort that they will have to spend to support your cause with a specific, and amazing, outcome, they are far more likely to contribute in a more substantial way.

Fundraising Levels

When one of your supporters selects a Fundraising Level, their fundraising goal will automatically be set to match the amount on the level that they selected. This takes the guessing game out of the process for the fundraiser and also ensures that you are raising the amount that you need to successfully tackle the issues your organization is working to solve.

Important Note: A fundraiser still has the ability to change their goal at any time, regardless of the level they select.

B. Fundraiser Leaderboard

Although this feature may not exactly be new, we feel that it is worth mentioning because it has received a major facelift. Your Peer-to-Peer campaign Landing Page will now have it's own Fundraising Leaderboard block! We have added some additional customization possibilities to this block that have not been available in the classic Peer-to-Peer campaigns.

You now have the option to show your top 10 fundraisers, top 10 teams, which fundraiser has the most donors and which team has the most members. Additionally, you have the ability to hide each different aspect of the leaderboard independently. This flexibility allows you to create a more tailored experience for your fundraisers as they compete for that top spot!

The settings for your Fundraising Leaderboard can be found on the Landing Page editor of your campaign, both in the Campaign Builder and in the Campaign Manager.

C. Fundraiser and Team Captain Dashboard

In addition to all of the new features we have created for our clients to use as they create their Peer-to-Peer campaigns, there are also some new tools for your fundraisers to use to get the most out of their fundraising experience. Without further ado, check out some of the exciting new features within the Fundraiser Dashboard!

Fundraising Levels

Overview

The Overview Tab is the tab that a Fundraiser or Team Captain will always see first once navigating to their Dashboard. On this tab we have included some cards that contain some helpful tips and reminders for your fundraisers to make them more successful. Once they complete the task described on the top card, that card gets removed and the next card displays with a new task. Once all of the cards are gone, they will have a fully customized page and be ready to crush their fundraising goal!

Updates

Updates are not a new feature, but they have been completely re-imagined in order to make this a more central focus for fundraisers and teams alike as they progress toward their goal. Each fundraising page has a Story section that looks and acts similar to the way a blog does, in that it displays a historical feed of individual posts that can all be viewed and shared independently.

We want to encourage fundraisers to keep their audience engaged with their page. The more content that is added to a page, the more their audience will visit it. Simple as that! This is a great opportunity to get creative as well. For example, ask your fundraisers to post a video of themselves doing a push-up for every dollar they raise each week! By providing some fun content suggestions, you can ensure your fundraisers are engaging their audience and driving traffic to their pages.

Donations

This has been one of the more requested features by fundraisers, team captains, and organizations alike; the ability for a fundraiser to thank their donors quickly and easily within Classy and track who has or has not been thanked yet. We have made it easier than ever to make sure donors know how much their donation is appreciated. By making this process simpler and more user-friendly, we hope to facilitate more communication between your fundraisers and their donors, which makes for a more memorable fundraising experience for all parties involved.

Emails

Another way fundraisers and teams can communicate with their audience is through the Emails Tab. However, rather than allowing emails to be sent directly from their Classy pages, we provide them with some useful Email Templates: an Appeal and a Thank You, that you can customize for them. These templates are designed to be copied and pasted by the fundraiser into their own email accounts and sent outside of Classy.

This will allow your fundraisers and team captains to better track all of the emails they send out to their network and make sure they are being as effective as possible with their communications.

D. Milestone Email Notifications

You requested: we listened! This is an entirely new feature to the Classy platform, and we couldn't be more excited to introduce it to the world. It is now possible to set automatic notification emails to be sent out to fundraisers when they raise a specific percentage of their overall fundraising goal. You can use one of the three standard options: 25%, 50% or 75%, or create your own! All of this can be done from within the new Email tab within the Campaign Manager

These emails also highlight another relatively new feature to the emailing capabilities called Merge Tags. Merge Tags allow you to automatically pull in donor or fundraiser information into your email text. For example, you can insert the Merge Tag for First Name in the greeting of your email to make it feel like a much more personal message.

E. Team Custom Questions

Another commonly requested feature we have added to the new Peer-to-Peer comes in the form of being able to create Custom Questions that can be asked during the Create a Team process. The classic Peer-to-Peer allowed for Custom Questions to be added to the donation checkout form as well as the fundraiser sign up form. Now, if you need to collect specific information for your team captains about your teams, you have the power to do so! You can do so from the Details tab on the Team Page Editor of the Campaign Manager.

F. Fundraiser Signup

We have also made joining or creating a team much easier in the new Peer-to-Peer campaigns! Supporters and fundraisers can now either sign up as an individual, join a team or create their own team directly from the main call to action on the campaign Landing Page. This is a vastly improved process from the classic Peer-to-Peer that we are excited to offer your supporters. After clicking your main call to action for creating a fundraising page, they see the options shown below.

Depending on which option is selected, the fundraiser is taken through the appropriate signup flow and the proper Custom Questions are asked.

G. Mobile Responsive Pages

Although Classy has already been a mobile friendly platform, we are always looking for ways to make our platform even more user friendly. For the new Peer-to-Peer campaigns, we have designed every single page to be 100% mobile responsive! This includes campaign Landing Pages, Fundraiser Pages, Team Pages, Donation Pages, Thank You Pages, and even the entire Fundraiser Dashboard. This enhancement allows your supporters to access and interact with your campaign quickly and easily from any device, anywhere in the world.

We have covered a lot of amazing new features in this article, but this list doesn't come close to including all of the improvements that can be found within Classy's new Peer-to-Peer campaign. We strongly urge you to jump in and explore all it has to offer! If you have any questions as you create your first new Peer-to-Peer campaign, do not hesitate to reach out to the Classy Support Team for assistance.
