In this support article, we will walk through how to edit a Peer-to-Peer campaign Donation Receipt Email.
1. Open Your Campaign
Navigate to your account's Campaigns tab and click on the campaign you want to open. This will bring you to the Overview tab for that particular campaign.
2. Select the Email Tab and Click on Email Receipts
Once in your campaign overview, select the Email tab. Then click on Email Receipts from the left-hand menu.
3. Open the Email Editor for Donation Receipts
On the Email Receipts page, click the gray edit arrow on the right of Donation Receipt and select Edit email.
4. Set Up the Basics of Your Email
Set up the basics of your donation receipt email. This step affects what a supporter will see in their inbox and has three components:
A. From Name: Who your email will appear to come from. We suggest using the name of your organization.
B. Email Subject: This field sets the Subject Line of the email that is sent. For this section, we suggest using Your Donation Receipt, or similar verbiage that highlights the fact that the email is confirming a successful donation and contains a receipt.
C. Reply To Email Address: If a donor decides to reply to the email containing their donation receipt, the email address entered in this field will receive that reply.
5. Edit the Content
Next, you can edit the actual content of the email. There are 7 customizable content blocks within this section:
Campaign Logo and Background
Contact Support Block
Footer Background and Color
Background Color: Choose a background color for the body of the email. Our builder gives you the ability to choose from an array of colors or enter a specific hex (color) code if you want to use a custom color.
Preheader: Add text to the very top of the email. Note that this often appears as an extension to the subject line. You can also edit the color of this text.
Header: Add your organization or specific campaign's logo. You can also edit the header's background color.
Heading: The Heading content block is where you have the most flexibility and customization in terms of content for the donation receipt. You are able to add a headline in bold underneath the header box, and compose a short supporting message below it. This text can be centered, aligned left, or aligned right.
Donation Block: The donation block option lets you hide or display the Manage Your Donation section at the bottom of your email. This section displays by default, but you can switch the toggle to hide to remove it.
Contact Support Block: This content block donors to contact the Classy Customer Care team for help understanding or managing their donation. The Contact Support block is displayed by default, but you can toggle the switch to Hide to remove the block.
6. Email Builder Step 3: Receipt
The official receipt comes attached as a PDF. On the physical receipt, you are able to edit both the Header Logo and specific Tax Deductibility Language. The receipt will also include detailed information on your organization and transactional details for the donation.
7. Review and Save Your Email Template
The last stage of the email builder will allow you to review and edit your work. You can also send yourself a test email to make sure everything is perfect. Remember, you can always update your donation receipt email by repeating these steps.
