As a Classy administrator, you can refund donations. Any donation made to your account can be refunded within 60 days of the transaction. Following the 60 days, Classy will no longer have access to those funds so the organization would be responsible for issuing a refund directly to the donor. Refunds can be made 24 hours after the donation was made because payment takes time to settle. Below are steps on how to refund a donation.
Refund a Donor From the Classy Manager
1. Navigate to the Transactions tab
2. Search for the Donor You Want to Refund
Type the donor's name into the search bar, and press the magnifying glass to search for the donor's donations.
3. Select the donation you want to refund
A list of the donations the donor has made will appear. Select the appropriate donation.
4. Refund the Donation
Once you click on a donation, the transaction information will appear. Scroll to the Payment Information section and click the Refund button to send the refund. By selecting refund donation you are refunding just that donation. The donor that is being refunded can expect to see their refund in 3-5 business days.
Refund a Donation From Classy's Classic Dashboard
You can also refund donations from the Classic Admin Dashboard. Refunds sent from the Classic Admin Dashboard will also take 3-5 business days to process.
1. Go to the Reports Tab and select the Transactions Report
Hover over the Reports Tab and select the Transactions Report.
2. Use Quick Find to search for the donation you want to refund
Press Quick Find, type in the donor's name, and then press apply to search for the donor's donations. Note: Use the date range filter to expand the time period of your search.
3. Select the edit icon next to the donor's name
Select the edit icon next to the donor's donation that you want to refund at this time.
4. Select refund donation
By selecting refund donation you are refunding just that donation. The donor that is being refunded can expect to see their refund in 3-5 business days.
