MailChimp is a well established email marketing tool that allows its users to create and send beautifully branded, customizable emails all while managing sophisticated contact lists.

As part of your Classy account, you have access to our MailChimp integration which will allow your Classy contacts to flow automatically into MailChimp.

1. FAQs

Q: What Information is passed to MailChimp from Classy automatically?

A: First Name, Last Name, Email

Q: What information is passed to MailChimp with a manual export?

First Name, Last Name, Email

Q: Where is this information stored in MailChimp?

A: Contacts are stored in the List and the Group if selected within your integrations settings on Classy. Lists and Groups must exist in MailChimp already.

Q: Is there a limit to the amount of contacts you can export manually?

A: We currently do not set a limit, the only limitation might be if there is too much data.

Q: What are MailChimp Contact Lists and Groups and how do contacts get assigned to them?

The list must exist already within MailChimp.  

Q: What happens if someone opts out?

A: The integration will be ignored for that transaction during the automatic sync. If the contact is manually exported then the contact will be transferred over

Q: Does Classy data override MailChimp data?

A: Classy data will not override MailChimp data

Q: Is the integration retroactive?

A: It is not retroactive. Historical data will need to be exported manually.

Q: What happens to duplicates?

A: Duplicates are ignored by MailChimp.  If the email address already exists within your MailChimp account, it will not sync over.

Q: What happens if and email address is updated, does that update the data in MailChimp?

A: Will create a new contact in MailChimp with the new email address. We do not update the contact in MailChimp.
