How To Set Up Percentage of Goal Milestone Emails

Percentage of Goal Milestone Emails are automatically sent to a fundraiser as soon as they reach a specific percentage of their fundraising goal. This article will describe how you can work smarter and not harder by using these emails to more efficiently manage your Registration with Fundraising and Peer-to-Peer campaigns.


1. Open Your Campaign

Navigate to your account's Campaigns tab and click on the campaign you want to open. This will bring you to the Overview tab for that particular campaign.

2. Click the Email Tab

Once inside your Campaign Manager, click on the Email tab.

3. Select Percentage of Goal Reached

On the Email tab, select Percentage of Goal Milestones to see your available Milestone Emails.

4. Select an Email to Edit

Classy provides three different percentage of goal milestone emails for you to start with: 25%, 50% and 75%. Using these emails is completely optional. If you wish to use any of them, simply toggle them on. Once you have toggled on an email you wish to use, click the title of the email or the edit arrow on the right to begin editing it. After selecting an email, you will go through the 3-Step process of designing your email.


The Setup section allows you to customize how the email will appear in your fundraiser's inbox, and also provide them with an email to which they can respond with any questions.


The Content section is where you can design all the different aspects of your email. Customizing your emails with images and encouraging words is a great way to motivate your supporters.


A. Background Color: Choose a background color for the body of the email. Our builder gives you the ability to choose from an array of colors or you can enter a specific hex (color) code if you want to use a custom color.

B. Preheader: Add text to the very top of the email. Note that this often appears as an extension to the subject line. You can also edit the color of this text.

C. Campaign Logo and Header: Add your organization's logo or your specific campaign’s logo. You can also edit the header's background color.

D. Image Block: The image block allows you to add an image to engage and encourage supporters.

E. Heading: The Heading content block is where you are able to add a headline in bold underneath the header box and compose a short supporting message below it. This text can be centered, aligned left, or aligned right.

F. Body Block: This is where you can add a short message to encourage your supporter and thank them for their support.

G. Button Group: The Button Group content block allows you to change the text and color of the button as well as the destination it links to.

H. Footer Background and Color: Change the background and text color of your email footer with this content block.


Once you have created the email you want your fundraisers to receive, you can take it for a test run. Add an email to the Send Test Email to have a test copy of the complete email sent to you for review. If everything looks good, click Save!

5. Create Your Own Milestone

We understand that every campaign is different and that our standard milestone percentages may not always fit your campaign. If you find yourself in this situation, click the Create New button to get started on creating your own custom Milestone Email. 

First, type in the percentage of goal reached at which you would like this milestone email to be sent to your fundraisers.

Then go through the same flow of creating your email described above.
