How Do I Edit Buttons?

Last Updated: Nov 07, 2018 09:22PM PST

Buttons are a critical element of your campaigns. While call-to-action buttons have a simple goal—encouraging supporters to donate or fundraise—personalizing them can create an emotional response that cements the action of giving. Each campaign type in Classy has unique button features to help you get the most out of your campaigns.

In this article, we’ll provide an overview of the buttons and how to customize them by campaign type:

Note: The campaign type you choose will dictate the button types available to you. While you can change the text on some buttons, you cannot change the button functionality from Donate to Fundraise.

Why customize buttons?

Customizing buttons can encourage supporters to make a donation or fundraise. The best donation buttons provide a strong call to action that is relevant to your cause.

Personalizing your call to action also helps supporters understand the impact of their gift. The more your supporters understand the impact of a donation, the more likely they are to donate. If you customize your buttons, we recommend using no more than 4 words.

That’s not to say that standard “Donate” or “Give Now” buttons are ineffective. Standard buttons like these are still a strong match for nonprofits that may not be able to communicate their impact in 3-4 words. But if you need any help writing, take a look at our professional writers' advice.

Editing Donation Page Buttons

Donation Amount Buttons

1. In the campaign you want to edit, select the Pages Tab and the Donation Page
2. Scroll down to the Donation Settings in your editor

3. Type the donation amounts you want in the donation amount text blocks

  • The pre-set donation amount buttons do not appear if you choose a donation setting that forces an amount (these settings are selected with the drop-down). If you force an amount, the donation form will simply list the amount that you set.

4. Click the green Save Changes button at the bottom of the editor to save your work

Submit Button

The submit button is located at the bottom of the donation page. When you set up the donation page, you can customize the text, but you can also come back to make edits or change the width.

5. Tap on the Design tab in your donation page editor
6. Scroll down until you see the Submit button on the right side of your editor

  • If you did not change the button when setting up your donation page, it will say “Give Now!”

7. Click on the button text to change the message

  • Delete the current text and type the message you want to appear
