In this article, you’ll learn about Roll-up Metrics and how to view them:

  1. What are Roll-up Metrics
  2. How to View Roll-up Metrics
  3. How to Save and Share Roll-up Metrics

What are Roll-up Metrics

Roll-up Metrics provide a general summary of a report to date. The metrics display in 5 boxes at the top of a report and empower you to check on your organization’s performance at a glance. The roll-up metrics that appear will change depending on the type of report you choose. For example a transactions report will display information such as the average transaction size. A supporters report will display information including the number of supporters who sign up for recurring giving plans. This ensures your roll-up metrics are always relevant.

How to View Roll-up Metrics

1. Open the Reports tab
2. Click on the report you want to create
3. View your Roll-up Metrics

  • The 5 boxes at the top of a report

Add a Date Range

By default, roll-up metrics summarize all of the information in a report to date. But you can also view roll-up metrics for a specific date range. To do so, use the following steps:1. Click the Filters button above the first roll-up metrics box
2. Under Property, type "Date" into the search bar
3. Choose a Date Filter

Pro Tip: The date filter you choose will depend on the goal of your search. For example, choosing “Transaction Date” allows you to see information for all transactions within a certain date range. Choosing “Refund Date” would only summarize information for transactions that were refunded in a certain date range.
4. Under Operator, choose to set an Exact date or range or a Relative date or range
5. Under Value, set your date range

  • You can use a preset range (the last week, month, or year) or a custom range (number of days)

6. Click Apply

Note: If one of your roll-up metrics includes information about “total raised” it will include any offline donations you have added and donations you have refunded. You can filter this information out using the property, operator, and value tools described above.

How to Save and Share Roll-up Metrics

From here, you can continue customizing your report with other filters and columns. When you are finished, you can save and share your report. To do so:1. Click the Save button
2. Click the Share button to the left of the Save button
3. Copy the link and send it to others on your team

Note: The recipient will need to have at least reporting level access to your Classy account in order to view the report. To give others access to your account, view our guide on adding account admins.
