Set Up the MailChimp Integration

Classy offers an integration with email marketing platform MailChimp. MailChimp helps you design email newsletters, share them on social networks, integrate with services you already use and track your results. This article will explain how to set up the integration. 

Note: You will need to be in the new Classy Manager to set up the MailChimp integration. All accounts are in the new Classy Manager by default, but if you are using the Classic Admin Dashboard, please click your Avatar in the top right-hand corner of your screen and select Switch to the new Classy Manager. 

To get started, all you'll need is your MailChimp API Key. Follow the instructions here to locate your API key.  

Once your UA Number is copied, return to the Classy Manager and navigate to the API + Apps tab. From the Apps section, select MailChimp. Finally, enter your MailChimp API Key and save your changes!

Any new donors and fundraisers will be automatically imported to your MailChimp contact lists. First Name, Last Name, and Email Address will be passed from Classy to MailChimp. If the email address already exists in MailChimp, a duplicate will not be created. Donors will appear in Mailchimp as long as they opt into communication. If they opt out, their First Name, Last Name, and Email Address will not be seen in your Mailchimp account.
