Social Media Settings for Crowdfunding Campaigns

The Classy Crowdfunding campaign offers robust control over the pre-populated messages supporters can share with their networks through social media, email, and text (SMS). This new feature allows you to craft relevant messages and calls to action to engage supporters in a more meaningful way.

1. Locating Social Media Share Options

Navigate to the Edit Tab of the Crowdfunding manager, and click Campaign.

Next, click the Details button, and Select Social Media on the left-hand menu.


 

2. Facebook Share

The new Facebook share option allows you to customize how your campaign is displayed when it's shared on Facebook. You can pick which image is displayed on Facebook from the pre-populated list of images pulled from the featured media on your campaign landing page.

You also have the option of editing the description of your campaign. This powerful tool allows you to customize what your supporters' networks will see in the description of the thumbnail when your campaign is shared on Facebook. Facebook will display 160-300 characters, depending on the page type.

3. Twitter Share

Enter the pre-populated message that appears when supporters share your campaign on Twitter. Twitter messages can be no more than 140 characters long. Because the campaign URL is not automatically included in the share message, please make sure you've included the URL in the share message. (How to find your URL) We do recommend that you use a bit.ly link to track the success of these messages.

Text Share

With a pronounced trend towards mobile giving, we now offer the ability for supporters to share campaigns through mobile text.

*Note: Please keep in mind that you must include the campaign URL within the text message as it is not automatically pulled in. (How to find your URL) Again, we recommend shortening the URL using Bit.ly or similar link-tracking or shortening service.

Email Share

You also have the ability to customize both the subject line and message that auto-populate the email template when your supporters choose to share via email.
